P.B. Karunarathna Memorial Bird Education Exhibition

14th Annual P.B. Karunarathna Memorial Bird Education Exhibition was held from 28th October to 01st November at the Department of Zoology, University of Colombo. This annual event is organized to commemorate late P.B. Karunarathna, one of the founder members of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka and a well known naturalist of the country.

Bird awareness seminars were also conducted for the school children of some selected schools in parallel to the exhibition.

13th annual P.B. Karunarathna Memorial Bird Education Exhibition was held from 30th October to 2nd November at the Department of Zoology, University of Colombo. This annual event is organized to commemorate late P.B. Karunarathna, a founder member of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka and a well known naturalist of the country.

Special sections on Sinharaja rain forest and Biodiversity of Sri Lanka were displayed as well as bird education materials. This annual exhibition is one of the major events organized by the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka to raise awareness among the general public.

Bird awareness seminars were also conducted for the school children of Royal College and Thurston College in parallel to the exhibition.

FOGSL exhibition at Kandy

FOGSL mobile exhibition on Birds and Biodiversity was held at the "Sisu Nena Pola" Education exhibition and Trade Fair at Gatambe, Kandy. The event was held at the Mahanama College ground from 12th to 17th August. As part of the programme, seminar was conducted for the school children of the area at the auditorium of the Plant Genetic Resource Center (PGRC). Prof. S. W. Kotagama conducted the seminar on the theme 'Environmental Issues' on 13th August.
